The image of "The North Park Springs" is a result of my recent discovery of this most beautiful and COLD springs that is one of the water sources for Higgins Lake.   (my wonderful outside view is of this lake). The lake is fed by underground springs that come up from the water aquifer that carries water from the great Lake Superior to our inland lake that is about a 2 1/2 hour drive away from our lake.  The little spring travels back from the edge of the shore until it springs out from a rocky area perhaps 3 football fields away from the shoreline.  Lovely trees bent down all over the canopy of hardwood and pine trees as the little stream brings its' ice water to the big lake.   I used a sketch that I created from several photos that were taken as I walked along a path that followed the spring and selected some of my favorites areas for the painting.   Since I greatly enjoy altering the colors and surface area of trees (as you can see in my four previously painted "In the Woods' series I had to do so but was able to play creatively with the water in the spring.  This is a VERY colorful painting and I would think would brighten up anyone's mood simply by looking at it.   The painting is now displayed and for sale at the Main Branch Art Gallery in Grayling, MI (989-344-0030).    I am offering a GICLEE canvas edition for sale on my ETSY store sight (JoannCullipART) (https://www.etsy.com/shop/joanncullipART ).  and I am also wiling to sell the original paining.
