Tall Pines with Firs_72dpi

This painting "Tall Pines with Firs" is part of a series based upon my playful approach to representing the woods and forests of northern Michigan.  I sketch the basic shapes of the trees within my composition but then intuitively apply various colors and designs within the tree bodies and eventually enjoy the challenge of using a variety of colors in the background areas surrounding the trees. The very distant appearance of fir tree branches represents what is (for me) so 'normal' as we often see various types of pine and fir trees close together within a wooded area.   I hope that the colors convey a sense of positivity and joy versus the darkness and potential fear some experience when entering a deep forested area.   This painting is for sale and archival  quality  Giclee copies created on canvas are for sale through my ETSY shop:  JoannCullipART.  You may contact me through this website or the ETSY shop to discuss the possibility of purchasing the original painting or discuss having me create a giclee on canvas in a different size a an artist's proof.    The shop title is written with a CAP J and CAP C...no spaces...and the word ART is all in CAPS.
