This enlarged view of the inside view of a peony flower is created as a fun challenge to do exactly that-greatly enlarge the view of a flower so that it filled the piece of watercolor paper. I did use a contrasting wash to offset the detail and carefully painted sharper edges shapes within the flower. I enjoy using more intense colors and like how the colors do pop off of the paper.
