"The Nuthatcher "is a painting in which I experimented with painting birds for a first time! Living in northern MI this breed of birds is one of my favorites as it goes down tree trunks upside down with aplomb. The are in my wooded area year round and I always am happy to spot them on bird feeders or simply on the trees nearby. I was using a variety of watercolor techniques when I created this piece (such as salt in background areas) and later did create a much larger composition with 3 types of birds (including this favorite type!) as a commission piece. I have listed this piece for sale within my ETSY STORE (JoannCullipART...cap the J, cap the C, cap the entire word ART) (https://www.etsy.com/shop/JoannCullipART). The listed image is for an archival quality Giclee reproduction that may include the option for you to have an artist's proof in a different size. The original painting is for sale; please contact me using either my ETSY store or through this website. I hope you will find enjoyment with viewing this image of such a creative bird.
