"Lost in the Woods" is a very large acrylic painting ; currently a giclee of this painting is on display at the Au Sable Artisans Village gallery in Grayling, MI.  It was painted after I created a forest scene on one side of a wooden paddle used as a charity donation for a local canoe marathon. (I have the paddle listed under my ACRYLIC PAINTING section of this website). This painting developed out of my desire to continue 'playing' with portraying trees in such a unique way- ignoring the typical bark and bands often seen atop tree trunks.  I also chose to basically focus on the shapes of the truck and heavier branches versus focus so heavily on the tree foliage/needles, etc.  My use of many colors also expresses my desire to create color filled forest and woods-no scary deep forest for me!  As I expanded the colors and interplay of shapes within the painting I kept creating other "Woods" concepts and this painting led to my creation of four more paintings.  The gallery owner/artist of the MAIN BRANCH gallery saw this painting on my cell phone and that led to an invitation to place my artwork into that gallery.    I was honored to display my paintings  amidst her stellar band of artists.  Upon the decision to close down the gallery I was fortunate to have my paintings accepted for display at the AU SABLE ARTISANS VILLAGE  in Grayling.  I have listed archival quality GICLEE reproductions of this painting-printed atop canvas with colors that totally match the original and will last for hundreds of years.  Should you be interested in a Giclee in a size different that what is in the site I can create a different size as an artist's proof (there is a limit of those as well as with the listed original).
