"American Geese"  (one of my favorite paintings) was created after I saw  the appearance of a grouping of Canadian geese-walking amidst a leafy but mud encrusted patch of land-next to a tiny pond in Kentucky.  I have always avoided browns and decided that my geese should be painted as I wish that actually did appear!  Yes-they would be more susceptible to attack with such a coloration-but what a visual treat for the eye.  Once I decided to enjoy my use of nonobjective colors I turned to doing likewise with the ground and water.  The muddied dark water t0ok on the playful interplay of wave action (inspired by the lake I live on in northern MI) and the muddied leaves are almost a geometric interplay of design.  I think my color palette closely resembles the American flag-which led to my title.    The painting was selected in a juried art show held by the Michigan Watercolor Society's 75 annual Exhibition in Detroit, Mi and was displayed during the month of July, 2022.    The watercolor painting is listed for sale under my ETSY store (JoannCullipART....cap the J, cap the C, cap all three letters in the word ART).  (https://www.etsy.com/shop/JoannCullipART).  The listing is for an archival quality GICLEE reproduction printed on fine quality watercolor paper and with has colors that match the original.  The giclee image will have colors that last for hundreds of years.  Should you be interested in an artist's proof that would be printed in a different size that could be done on a very limited basis.  The original painting may also be purchased; contact for on either the ETSY store website or through this website.  Thank you for your time in exploring my paintings.
